Does anyone have a favorite source for printer ink? I’m looking for non-OEM only because it’s much cheaper. I rarely print photos, so perfect color fidelity isn’t important. My main concern is that it comes in non-leaking cartridges and it doesn’t foul the print nozzles. If the retailer includes a bag to return empties, that’s all the better.
I have bought ink for my Epson e220 from both places and I honestly could not tell the difference between the generic and real Epson ink. I did have a problem with one cartridge leaking one time, but it only leaked a little bit when I took it out of the printer to throw it away, it did not actually leak in the printer. I also haven’t had any trouble with that ink clogging my nozzles. It’s usually cheaper to buy ink from these places in bundles. For example I usually buy mine in a pack of 7, one of each color and two blacks. Hope this helps.

Since I started this thread a year ago I’ve stopped buying generic ink for my old Canon S500. I can’t prove it but I suspect that it clogged the nozzles. I’ve cleaned the print head dozens of times but the colors are still messed up. However, black only works perfectly, so I use the Canon for letters, envelopes, sticky labels, and all the mundane stuff. For color I’m happy with the hp ink.
