What do I need to do to keep my car in good condition?
I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima that just went over 100,000 miles. I get the oil changed and tires rotated every 5,000 miles. We also recently changed the spark plugs. What else do I need to do to keep my car in good condition?
I didn’t buy the car new. I bought it last year and it had about 89,000 miles on it at the time.
Keep your fluids clean, have your tires rotated, your brakes checked at every tire rotation, change your oil and filter every 3 months or 3000 miles; don’t use cheap auto parts ( they don’t pay off in the long run) have your front and rear suspension checked every 6000 miles during the tire rotation, get it aligned once a year, and check your tire pressure once every 2 gas fill ups. Go by the sticker on your car rather than the kid who works at Jiffy Lube who knows more than the people that designed and built your car! Look in your owners manual for your maintenance schedule and go by that. Good Luck and Happy Motoring!
